How much data does NPR One use? Is there a WiFi only option?

NPR One on mobile devices will stream your recommended stories and podcast episodes using the network you are connected to, either wifi or your cellular service. If you are experiencing high data usage from NPR One, you can take a couple actions to limit this issue - 1) begin a new session of NPR One before leaving wifi coverage—the app pre-buffers several stories in advance upon startup, and 2) you can goto the general settings on iOS and Android to disable the app from using cellular data.

We will be making improvements to NPR One to use less of your data by implementing mobile friendly audio formats, allowing downloads over wifi, and making the app smarter at pre-buffering your stories and podcast episodes.
