How do I download audio content from

Many NPR news and music stories are available for download. Simply click the 'Download' link, next to the headline on a story page or in the program rundown, and a download will begin automatically. You can then add the audio to your mp3 player, phone, laptop or netbook to take with you and listen offline wherever you go.

Unfortunately, we are not able to make all stories available for download. For certain special features like exclusive music tracks, live concerts or some acquired programs, we do not have all the necessary rights.

Also, stories in our archives from before May 2005 are not currently available for download, although it is possible that they may become available in the future. In the meantime, you can always listen to streaming audio of older archived NPR programming.

NPR also offers a variety of podcasts. You can visit our podcast directory, or browse our related help topics for more information.
