Why isn't your media player in the HTML5 audio format?
We strive to offer an excellent listening experience for our audience, and we are always exploring different options. In fact, we already do offer HTML5 audio in several places, including NPR's live concert events and the iPad-optimized version of NPR.org.
We will continue to explore HTML5, however it is important to understand that some browsers still do not fully support that audio format. We are very interested in this audio option's further potential once support for the format broadens and solidifies.
