Where can I find NPR’s annual reports and non-profit status information?
Thank you for your inquiry and for your support of NPR and your Member station. NPR is a private, non-profit, 501 (c)(3) corporation. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, NPR files IRS Form 990s annually with the IRS as required by law. NPR posts these 990 filings on its website annually, along with audited financial statements and annual reports and donor lists. All may be found on our website here.
NPR does not publish the amounts that corporations and foundations donate, however the names and donation ranges for our corporate and foundation donors may be found in our annual reports, available at the previously cited website. Foundations that are also 501 (c)(3) organizations are similarly required to file IRS Form 990s in which they specify donation recipients and amounts given. These 990s may be found on the web via various charity and non-profit information organizations. NPR does not publish the amounts that individual donors give and it is not obligated to do so.
