What are the requirements for audio produced before mid-2005?

NPR audio produced before mid-2005 is typically only available via Real Player. In these cases, you will see a "Real Media" link on right-hand side of the story's headline.

If the Real Player launches but does not play, you may be missing a codec that is necessary to access the audio. The simplest and best solution is to upgrade to the most recent version of the Real Player. The latest release will either already include this codec or will automatically locate it for you.
